I sent out a copy of the summer incentive handout with my most recent newsletter and encouraged parents to take a look at it so they could encourage their students to practice and be in the loop about what their students were working towards. Of course, it didn't make a difference for every student, but some came to the first lesson already knowing what the incentive was all about because their parents had told them :) <br /><br />I sometimes wonder if parents realize just what a different their participation (or lack thereof) makes in a students' success. One student did 200 minutes this week and a younger students painstakingly created an elaborate chart to get his 100 minutes, but others just did not get it together.
